So said one of my favorite clients. I was his school district’s attorney where he was the director of special education. I had just advised him about a legal requirement. His response is very relevant today.

Have you also been reading and listening to stories about the three university presidents (Harvard, MIT, and Penn) who recently testified before the House committee about antisemitism on college campuses? Fascinating. Sad. It’s all quite horrifying, actually.

They couldn’t give a straight direct answer about whether promoting genocide of a particular group of students would violate their universities’ codes of conduct. The fallout from that hearing continues across our nation.

According to the website of Representative Elise Stefanek, who questioned these presidents, the video of that testimony has been viewed more than a billion times, making it the most viewed congressional hearing ever.
